Hot Bread!

DSC_4026

Why did JESUS teach us to pray, “Give us this day our daily bread?” As a matter of fact, why did GOD give the Children of Israel daily manna most days? Don’t you like shopping for the month and avoid running to the supermarket every other day? I pondered, about this practice of the daily bread or manna. We know scripturally that the bread represents the Word. When the devil tempted JESUS, HE responded that man does not live by bread alone but by every Word that is coming out of the mouth of the FATHER. (Mat 4:4) Bread is not good enough. Word is not good enough. What matters is the Word that is now coming from the FATHER as it concerns you. This is the WORD that has the power to effect change now! The WORD illuminated as you read the Bible today, pay keen attention. The Word spoken into your spirit as you got in the car. This is the WORD: the rhema Word. The now Word. The one that has the breath of GOD on  it, which is the HOLY SPIRIT. When the HOLY SPIRIT and the WORD come together…there is creation, as in Genesis. Hebrews 4:12 “For the Word of GOD is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates…”

So what jumped off the page at you when you read the Bible? That’s the Word that has your answer.  You must get it daily. This builds that intimate relationship between you and GOD, so that you live by the proceeding Word. Life is on it. It’s Hot Bread!

Worry, For What!

“Matthew 6:25-34 tells us to put off worrying since it does not benefit us. We actually gain nothing we want to keep by worrying. It is an offense to GOD for us to worry. It’s as if we are telling Him that we are so concerned that He is unable to provide us the things we need, not to mention the things we desire. We who are made in His image and likeness observe how He takes care of the birds, who never get a salary or go shopping. Yet, we struggle to accept that we who are of much greater value to HIM can be sustained by His Word. Jesus asks us why do we worry about clothes, when He arrays the wild flowers with such beauty. They did not spend a cent for their bling attire. What about us?  Jesus pitied us “o ye of little faith,” He said. He then commanded us: do not worry!” Excerpt from the book Forming Faith: Owning My Christianity.

When GOD became my GOD

College is such an exciting time in the life of a youth. It’s the chance to really step out and be who you are. It’s the shining of your individuality.  The proverbial caterpillar to butterfly experience has reached its exiting cocoon stage. As a Christian youth, many principles of the Word of GOD have been deposited in you, but what do you believe? Time will tell this story even to those who believe they already know it.  The process is not to be despised…it’s the creation of a masterpiece!  Of course, that is if GOD does the creating.  How can you make sure of that? Don’t leave him behind in your abandoned room as you take off on this life-changing journey. Still rely on HIM for all that matters.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways submit to Him and He will make your paths straight.
